From the 1850s the newly rich gold, railroad, and lumber tycoons of San Francisco created fabulously decorated wooden homes which reflected the totally unrestrained architectural traditions of the new state. Exuberant euphoria exploded into towers, gingerbread carving, stained glass and porches with elaborately carved posts, spindles, and knobs. Join us for four days of painting, stitching Victorian patterns and details, and the embellishing to two special California homes photo printed on Congress Cloth. A wonderful book, California Victorians by Kenneth Neversen, is included in each kit for even more inspiration. Create padded ultra-suede rocks, couched string and a variety of Victorian patterns in silk and floss while enjoying the exploration of this wonderful architectural style.
