Description

"Frostfire" was designed as a winter sampler for the cover of the Nov/Dec 2007 "Needlepoint Now". It is a combination of photo transfer, applique', tradiational needlepoint patterns, Blackwork, and pulled thread. Students are invited to send a photo to the instructor (horizontal orientation) prior to class and provide their own fabric (6x6") if they wish to personalize their piece. The photo transfers must be made ahead of time so the instructor would need any substitute photos as soon as possible after the student is notified of his/her placement in the class. Other students may decide to stitch the piece exactly as designed. The kit contains the photo heat transfered onto Congress cloth, all needed silk, floss, overdyed floss, fabrics for applique, Kreinik metallics, needles, directions and a heart locket. The student's photos will be returned in perfect shape in class. Come create an original photo masterpiece of sparkling winter scenery in fabric and hand-dyed silks.
