Description

The delightful scent of blossoms in the garden is spread by a gentle breeze, bring us their perfume. This wondrous flower cluster incorporates the Jacobean style, Crewel embroidery, Romanian Point Lace, Golden coil and beads in a new form of expression. Students will experience stitches such as: Jacobean, Satin, French knot, Fern, Alternate Saten, Coral, Pekin. Also they will learn to use golden coils and beads. Materials used: a variety of DMC embroidery floss colors, DMC Cebelia # 20 crochet thread, golden coils, beads and metallic gold thread. A large part of this design is done in Romanian Point Lace technique, which includes: crocheted cord, and fancy needle lace stitches used in between the cords in order to fill the space. Stitches as: Feather stitch, Net stitch, Wheat Ear stitch, and crocheted cord will be taught in class. After completing the stitches and connections, the basting thread is cut off and the lace section attached to the Moire fabric using beads or French knots. Students will learn Romanian Point Lace history as well as traditional and modern forms of lace. Embroidery stitches taught in the class include Raspberry, Woven, Net, Buttonhole, Russian, Knotted Russian, Feather, Satin, Chain, French Knots and other stitches.

A finished piece will be available during class for reference and viewing.

Design Size: 11 inches by 11 inches

Student will Supply:

3 inch embroidery hoop | # 4 steel crochet hook | 14" by 14" stretcher bars and tacks | normal stitching tools.
