The iris a much revered flower in Japan and is the subject of this Rozashi study. It is worked on a specially woven silk gauze, “ro.” Threads are tightly twisted silk and a 3-ply metallic. All are traditional to Rozashi.
The stitches used in this piece include the irregular stitch, straight stitches, the line stitch, and step stitches.
