Teacher: Tanja Berlin
Class days: February 18-19, 2012 (Saturday-Sunday)
Style: Apple Blossom Two Sided
Skill level: Beginner to Advanced
Kit fee: US $65.00
In this two day class the student will work an Apple Blossom Branch so that the embroidery is reversible.
The exciting, rarely explored technique of two sided embroidery will be experience by beginners to advanced embroiderers in this two day class. A choice between two designs is offered but the student can make their choice at the class as the kit comes with both designs. This intimidating looking technique will be made easy for all those who venture to try this class. The student will work a sprig of apple leaves and blossoms on a single piece of fabric so that the back is as well executed as the front. The student will learn how to work satin stitch, padded satin stitch, stem stitch, and long and short stitch as a reversible stitch, using a single strand of DMC perle cotton thread. Most of the design will be worked in the class and the student will go home confident in the knowledge of how to transfer the design onto the fabric, how to work embroidery stitches so that they are reversible and a new confidence in their embroidery skills.
This unusual class should not be missed.

Supplies
• A sharp pair of small sharp embroidery scissors.
• A stretcher bar embroidery frame: Please bring a 12 inch by 12 inch stretcher bar frame. Stretcher bars are wooden embroidery frames in which the fabric can be pulled tight. It is important that the lengths of the stretcher bars are as quoted so that the fabric fits exactly.
• Packet of Brass Tacks: Please bring at least 50 tacks to pin on the fabric to the stretcher bars.
• A Mechanical HB pencil nib size 0.5 or 0.7 or a sharp HB pencil.
• Any hard back book approximate size 8 inch square and ¾ - 1 inch thick: This book is placed under the fabric once it is in the frame and acts as a hard surface for which to trace the design onto the fabric.
• Light and Magnifier. I recommend bringing a light with an extension cord and a magnifier to enable you to see the stitches clearly.
• Frame Stand: Optional
